2.7.7. Circulation of engine oil

GENERAL INFORMATION

Circulation of engine oil

1 – the channel of supply of oil in a head of the block of cylinders,
2 – main oil highway,
3 – dispersion of oil for cooling of pistons,
4 – an oil stream in an oil filter,
5 – oil heat exchanger

Lubricant of the engine is carried out under pressure. The oil pump takes away oil from the oil pallet via the mesh filter and gives it under pressure via the filter of thin purification of oil. In the oil pump there is perepuskny a valve which supports pressure at one level in the engine lubrication system. If pressure in the lubrication system of the engine increases above a certain level, the valve opens perepuskny and a part of oil flows down back in the oil pallet.

Passing through an oil filter, the purified oil comes to the trunk oil main. In the oil highway the oil pressure sensor which, including a control bulb on a combination of devices, signals about the low pressure of oil is installed. In an oil filter there is a valve which in case of strong pollution of an oil filter bypasses the crude oil directly to the oil highway.

From the trunk main on channels oil under pressure moves for lubricant of radical bearings of a bent shaft and further via channels in cranked to a shaft to conrod bearings. For cooling of pistons oil through nozzles is sprayed on the lower part of pistons.

On channels oil moves to a head of the block of cylinders for lubricant of bearings of camshafts and in hydraulic pushers.

Oil consumption

The consumption of oil is the amount of oil necessary for ensuring process of combustion of fuel-air mix. Losses of oil in connection with leakage of the lubrication system of the engine do not belong to the category of a consumption of oil. The oil consumption also defines the high temperatures and pressure which are present at operation of the engine. The oil consumption is also influenced by service conditions of the car and a manner of driving. The maximum consumption of oil is 1 l on 1000 km of a run of the car.


Prevention

Do not fill in engine oil above max tag on the probe, otherwise not burned down oil can get to the exhaust system and damage the catalyst.
