2.4.3. Check of hydraulic pushers of valves

GENERAL INFORMATION

The correct installation of valvate gaps is very important as they to a large extent define operation of the engine. If valvate gaps too big, operation of the engine is noisy and efficiency of the engine will be reduced as valves, open too late and are closed too early. More serious problem arises if valvate gaps too small as valves cannot be closed completely, on the hot engine that can lead to serious damage of the engine.

These engines have hydraulic pushers which automatically cope lubrication system pressure to compensate a gap between a cam of the camshaft and the corresponding rod of the valve. Therefore regular check and adjustment of valvate gaps is not required. However it is necessary that engine oil of high quality was used and recommending mine to viscosity and engine oil was replaced in the recommended intervals. At start of the cold engine there is a small delay until pressure of engine oil is leveled in all parts of the engine, especially in hydraulic pushers. Therefore valve about 10 seconds then the knock vanishes can "knock". It is the normal state of affairs provided that all pushers work further silently.

After the engine was not started within several days, the valve can "knock" during longer time as almost all oil flows down from the top part of the engine and the working surfaces of bearings. At this time it is necessary to be careful not to damage the engine, that is to avoid sharp change of power setting until all pushers are filled with engine oil. At warming up of the engine turns of bystry idling (from at most 2000 to 2500 rpm) should not be exceeded within 10–15 minutes, or the knock of valves will not stop yet. If noise of pushers is present, switch off the engine and perform the following operations.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect and remove elements of system of injection of fuel.
2. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders. Remove a maslootrazhatel and laying from a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Turn a bent shaft until the cam over the checked pusher is established directly up.

4. Press a pusher a wooden or plastic wedge.
If the free wheeling of a pusher is more than 0,1 mm, replace pushers. For this purpose turn a bent shaft and install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT.
