1.7. Discharge of water from the fuel filter (diesel engines)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The fuel filter is located at the left in a motor compartment behind the generator. Access to the fuel filter is complicated.

Arrangement of collars (A) and bolt of fastening (V) of fuel hoses

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the corresponding container under the fuel filter.
2. For ensuring intake of air in a power supply system, weaken a collar (A), and unscrew a bolt (V) of fastening of a hose, see rice. Arrangement of collars (A) and bolt of fastening (V) of fuel hoses.
3. Unscrew in the top part of the filter a bolt for removal of air and weaken in the lower part a stopper for discharge of liquid and merge liquid (about 100 cm3) before emergence of pure fuel. For purposeful discharge of liquid, it is possible to dress a hose on a stopper.
Prevention

Do not merge all contents of the fuel filter.

4. Screw up in the top part of the filter a bolt for removal of air and in the lower part a stopper.
Prevention

After discharge of water from the fuel filter removal of air from fuel system is not required.

5. For closing of intake of air in a power supply system, tighten a collar (A), and screw in a bolt (V) of fastening of a hose to an arm, see rice. Arrangement of collars (A) and bolt of fastening (V) of fuel hoses.
6. Removal of air will come from fuel system automatically, after start of the engine. After several pressing an accelerator pedal, fuel without bubbles has to flow on the transparent pipeline to the fuel pump of high pressure.
7. Visually check tightness of fuel system, in particular, in junctions of the fuel filter.
