Programs of work

The control system of the automatic transmission provides various programs of work of the transmission. Depending on actions of the driver or from traffic conditions of the car is chosen or the economic, i.e. directed to fuel economy program, or the active program which it is very conditionally possible to call "sports".

The choice of the program of work of the transmission is carried out automatically depending on kind of work of the driver with an accelerator pedal.

At the slowed-down or normal kind of work with an accelerator pedal thanks to early inclusion of higher transfers and late transition to lower transfers the possibility of economy of fuel appears.

The so-called "sports" program of work of the transmission is chosen when control of a pedal of an accelerator is exercised rather sharply. At the same time it is necessary to press an accelerator pedal not so vigorously needlessly not to pass a threshold of pressure upon a pedal of an accelerator behind which there is a compulsory anticipatory inclusion of lower transfer provided in a control system of the transmission. At the choice of the "sports" mode engine capacity reserves thanks to some delay of switching to higher transfer are completely used.

Depending on resistance to the movement, for example, at towage of the trailer or the movement on rise, such program automatically is chosen that by switching to lower transfer to provide the increased traction effort on driving wheels and by that to avoid constant gear shifting.

Sekventalny mode of switching

Existence of the sekventalny mode of gear shifting (tiptronic system) gives the chance to the driver manually to switch transfers.

For transition to the program of manual switching it is necessary to translate the selector from a position "D" to the right. Transition can be carried out both on the motionless car, and at the movement. At gear shifting on the display figures "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" appear. The transfer included at present is shown.

Little push of the selector forward (+) transfers up, and a little push back (-) – consistently down consistently join.

At dispersal of the car there is an automatic inclusion of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th transfers shortly before the achievement moment the engine of the most admissible frequency of rotation.

If the driver made switching from any transfer to lower transfer, the control unit of the transmission will include this lower transfer only when there is no danger of a retwist of the engine.

Blocking of the selector

The selector in positions "P" and "N" at the included ignition is blocked. For a selector conclusion from these positions it is necessary to press a brake pedal and to press on the button in the selector handle. Thanks to it there is no situation when on imprudence one of transfers can be included and the car will absolutely uncontrolledly start.

The delay device is provided in a design of the automatic transmission in order that upon transition from one position to another through a position "N" (for example, from "R" to "D") the selector was not blocked. Thanks to it, "rocking" of the got stuck car is possible. Only when the selector at not pressed brake pedal is more than one second in a position "N", there is a blocking of the selector.

At a speed of movement higher than 5 km/h blocking of the selector in a position "N" is automatically switched off.
